Untangling Roots Before Re-Potting Bell Pepper Plants

I waited too long before I re-potted my bell pepper plants. I had two pots of bell peppers with 11 sprouts each. I got the seeds from kitchen scraps and didn't expect so many would grow. My mistake was planting them on two very small pots.

I plan to keep just a few of the plants and I will give away the rest. My balcony isn't big. It's now looking like a tiny jungle. I got some grow bags and treated the soil first before I re-potted the plants. Here's how the bell pepper plants progressed in the last two months -

And here's how I re-potted them -

It took me almost three hours to finish re-potting the two tiny pots. Each pot had sprouted 11 bell pepper plants each. The process got hairy when I discovered that the roots were tangled with each other. Good thing my friend, Kristine, taught me how to untangle roots and she advised to also use a plastic spoon in the process.

Now I have 22 new pots of bell pepper plants. I kept them under the shade and hope they don't have a hard time adjusting to their new pot.
