Plantdemic Update Week 3: Sunflower, Mustasa, Bell Pepper and Tomato

Wow wow wow! The sunflowers have grown so much in three weeks. It's our first time to successfully grow sunflowers. We're looking forward to see it eventually produce flowers. We have a tricky task to do this week and that's to re-pot the sunflowers so they can grow properly. Wish us luck!

It's a bit strange, the mustasa isn't growing as fast as it used to. We're not sure if it has something to do with the soil. Maybe the seedlings aren't as good as before. Still hope it'll grow more so we can make our special Beef Mustasa Taco.

So far there's just one bell pepper that's growing. We planted some more seeds. Hopefully we'd get more to sprout in the coming week.

Surprisingly we finally got a tomato seed to sprout! We'll eventually have to move it because a mustasa plant grew in the same pot.

So far we have been watering the plants everyday because we get the morning sun. It gets very hot by midday and the soil soon dries out. We also hydrate them with overnight rice water at least once a week. We noticed some mealy bugs started to encroach on the sunflowers. We'll discuss on a separate post how we've been keeping them at bay.

How's your garden?
